What is Garden Design App?
Garden Design App is an online tool that turns a photo of your garden into a photorealistic redesign and a real planting plan. You upload a photo, choose a style, and get back an image of your garden replanted — plus a buy-list of UK plants with quantities and positions, so you can actually create it.
How does the AI garden design work?
Three steps. Snap or upload a photo of your garden or a single border. Brush out anything you don't want to keep and pick a style. We then generate a photorealistic redesign that keeps your fences, paths and trees where they are, alongside a planting plan that lists every plant, how many, and where it goes.
Are the plants real — can I actually buy and plant them?
Yes. Every design comes with a planting plan of real, available UK plants, with quantities, spacing and a month-by-month flowering guide. The plans are built on real horticultural data and shaped by a professional gardener — not generic AI guesses — so the garden in the picture is a garden you can genuinely plant.
What garden styles can I choose from?
Five to start: cottage, low-maintenance, shady (including dry shade under trees), drought-tolerant Mediterranean, and pollinator and wildlife. There's also a special mode that turns a tired lawn into a wildflower meadow.
Do I need a special photo or camera?
No — a normal phone photo is perfect. Photograph your whole garden if it's small and simple, or one border at a time for larger or more complex gardens, where each bed has its own light and soil.
Is the first design really free, and what does it cost after?
Your first design is genuinely free, with no card required. After that, plans are expected to start around £7 a month for regular use — final launch pricing is being confirmed.
